Creative Birthday Card with Embossing Techniques

I have some cards that I didn’t get posted in the later part of last year. This birthday card is one of those.

For this card, I combined embossing, heat embossing and coloring.

My first step was to emboss my cardstock using the Scattered Shells embossing folder from Spellbinders. I lightly mist the back of my cardstock before running it though my die cutting machine in the embossing folder. This helps to prevent cracking when embossing.

Once had a good impression, I added some Vintage Photo Distress ink using a blending tool. This helped to better highlight the shells in the background.

I had choosen to use Fishing Squidgy as my focal image from Stamping Bella. I don’t think this image is still available now.

I colored the image using my Copic markers. I have listed the colors I used at the bottom of my post.

Once the coloring was done, I cut the image out using the Small Stitched Oval dies from Lawn Fawn.

For my sentiment, I first stamped the sentiment and then heat embossed it. I used the coordinating die to cut the sentiment out and two additional pieces in white cardstock. I added those pieces behind my sentiment to give it some dimension.

I added my embossed cardstock to my card base and then my image and sentiment. This completed my card.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
