Create Stunning Birthday Cards with Ink Blending Techniques

Today’s card mixes stamps, die cutting and ink blending. I saw a similar card from another card maker but I changed it up a little bit. I used Hero Arts Sunset Over Waves bundle to create this card.

I first ink blended the background making sure to go back and forth between the colors next to each other to get a good blend from one color to the other.
This bundle includes the stamps for the different sections of the scene. This is a layering stamp set so you can add the different colors in the same section.
I started with the largest stamp for the ocean and my lightest color. I then added the other layers using a darker color for the ocean and then the sunset color.
Once I had the ocean, I moved on to the clouds. I only used the largest stamp and added my orange ink to the bottom of the clouds. I stamped the image and then added my pink ink to the top parts of the clouds, overlapping where I had added the orange ink. I added a little more orange and pink inks to the stamp blending the colors where they met and stamped the image a final time.

Once I had the image inked up, I die cut the image using the matching die. I die cut an additional image and adhered it to the back of my first image.

Using the sun image from the bundle, I die cut the image first and then added my color.
Once I had completed the coloring, I adhered the sun in the back of my cloud/ocean image to give the scene some depth.
The bundle also has a die for cutting out a “beach”. I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock for the sandy beach.
I adhered the beach to my ocean/cloud/sun piece and then onto my sky background.
To finish the scene, I stamped the birds from the bundle in the sky.

My sentiment is from a different stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then in VersaMark ink. I added clear embossing powder and heat set it.

This completed my card. This is a great bundle as it includes both the stamps and corresponding dies. There are a number of different images that you can add to your scene.
