Floral Birthday Greetings

I’m a big fan of Gina K’s as she often shows a lot of different techniques and card designs. She recently had a video where she added some color to an embossed background. I loved the look and thought I would give it a try with my own spin on it.

For my focal image, I choose Poppies and Peonies. After coloring my image with my Copic markers, I used the matching die to cut the image out. I cut three additional pieces out of white cardstock so I could pop my image up.

For my background, I used Gina K’s Petite Flourish background stamp and heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder. Once I had that done, I created a mask using Masking Magic to mask off all but a circle image. I then ink blended the circle with Powder Blue ink before removing my mask. Once I had that done, I placed the circle that was cut out of my mask over what I had just color blended so I could add some color to the balance of my background. I then added my image to the panel. My sentiment is from Fancy Phrases and matching dies. Again, I cut some additional dies to add to the back of my sentiment to give it some depth.

This card is a little larger than A6 card since the focal image is rather large. This was a fun card to create and one I will probably do again.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
