One of my great nephew’s nickname is Moose. My Favorite Things has some great stamp sets featuring Moose and I thought one of them would make a perfect birthday card for my great nephew.

Merry Moose is a great stamp set with several images of Moose in winter activities. Since my great nephew has a birthday in January and lives in the mid-west, I thought these images were perfect. I stamped the images and then colored them with my Copic markers. I used the matching dies to cut the images out and then created my scene. For the background, I used my Fuse and Gina K’s Winter Snow Poly-Glaze foiling sheet. For my foiling, I used Deco Foil’s Silver Glitter. I love the sparkle this brought to the snowflakes on the background. It is hard to photograph foiling, but it really turned out perfect.

I wanted to add some color around the snowflakes so that the snowflakes would stand out more. I ink blended the background using Powder Blue Ink from Gina K. For my sentiment, I used one of the sentiments in the stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment and then cut it out using one of the Nested Banner dies from Simon Says Stamp.

For each of my images and my sentiment, I die cut three extra pieces in white cardstock and glued them together so that my images were raised above the background. I used Gina K’s Master Layouts to cut my background down and to add a border around the background before adding it to a black cardstock. I was very pleased with how this card turned out. I always struggle with masculine cards, but this one is perfect for “Moose”.
