I hadn’t use my colored pencils for awhile, so I decided to pull them out. I had never colored on dark card stock before and thought I would give it a try.

It is a little harder to photograph using dark card stock, so I apologize for the images. I used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color this image from Simon Says Stamp, Beautiful Flowers.

I added some Nuvo Morning Dew drops to give the appearance of some water drops on my flowers.

I added some dark fun foam to the back of my image and then mounted it on some lighter purple card stock. I stamped my sentiment using some white pigment ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Very pretty Nancee!

Thank you! I really liked coloring on the dark paper. It took several layers to get the depth I wanted but was happy with the outcome!

Ahhh! That is the secret, layers. You did an amazing job!

You just need to make sure they are “soft” layers. Using light pressure lets you get many layers without getting the waxy bloom.

See I would not have known that combined with my inconsistent coloring it would be a mess! Thanks for sharing the technique!
