Well, the holidays are over, so it’s back to birthday cards.  Oh so many birthday cards to be made!  LOL!

Birthday Cards-5

This cute image is from Stamping Bella, Milton.  He is such a cutie and perfect for a birthday card.  I colored him using my Copic markers.  I have listed the colors I used at the bottom of my post.

I wanted to do something a little different for my background, so I colored the entire background using my B32 Copic marker.  Once it was completely covered, I used Copic Colorless Blender and a small piece of cross-stitch fabric to dab the background to give it some texture.  I was pleased with the outcome.

I found some pretty digital background paper from We Are 3, Cupcake Wrappers and thought it was perfect for the card.  I layered the background paper with some navy paper and did the same with my image.  I added some fun foam to the back of the image layer to raise it up a bit.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set from Stamping Bella.  After adding some Midnight Blue Nuvo drops, my card was complete.

    I love this. I had been looking at the background and had been intrigued to find out how you managed it. That is such a clever technique 🙂

      Thanks Debbie! You can really use any textured piece of material. Different textures give different effects. I have used a piece of a towel with thick nap. Thanks for stopping by! 😊

    Ohhh Nancee!! This card is a total delight. He’s just perfect, in every way.

    I adore the background you ‘invented’, it works perfectly with the image. Doesn’t scream at you, but so lovely that you notice it. And the sentiment is brilliant teamed with the little chap. Different fonts, but teamed so well together.

    Your colouring is second to none. I think you’re the best colourist I’ve ever seen.
