Snowman With A Gift

Wow, birthdays seem to come all the time!  LOL!  We have several birthdays during the month of January, so I’m keeping to the “winter” theme for my first family birthday card.

What better images than Flurry (Snowman with a Gift) and Warm Hearted (Snowman & Bunny) from Purple Onion designs.  I have seen these stamps on another blogger’s site, Julia Altermann.  She has made such cute cards using these stamps.  She used these two stamps on a card with some masking and I thought it was so cute, so I decided to give it a try.

I first stamped Flurry, and then masked him off.  I then stamped Warm Hearted.  This keeps Flurry in front of Warm Hearted.  I used my Copics to color the images.  I have listed the Copics at the bottom of my post.  I used a white gel pen to add some design to the sweater and mittens.

I cut out my images using my “go to” dies, Stitched Rectangles by Lawn Fawn.  I have both sets, so I have many sizes of to use.  I added some blue paper to create a border.

I found the background paper in my stash and thought it was the perfect paper…the appearance of snow coming down.

My sentiment is from Birthday Wishes by Art Impressions.  I heat embossed the sentiment using some white embossing powder I have had for some time.  I found a simple rectangle die in my stash and cut it out.

To finish the front of the card, I added some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops.  I just love those drops.  They take some time to dry, so I decided to “pre-make” some drops to adhere to my card.  I have a piece of cardstock that I laminated.  I found that if I add the drops to that and let them dry, I can pop them off and use a little Glossy Accents to adhere them to my card.  Any glue would work.  The extra ones, I just put in a container for use later.  It worked so well, I made a LOT of them in many different colors so I could easily pop them on my cards.

Absolutely sublime! Great idea too. A snowman is for winter, not just for Christmas!

I love that you did this. I think that we make too little use of our “Christmas” supplies.

Thanks! I’m trying to see if I can’t stretch my stamps and use them for other occasions. Trying to look outside the box for a change.

The colors are so vibrant, perfect for a cold wintery day. You’re right that light blue paper is perfect. Thanks again for the helpful tip on how you are using Nuvo Crystal drops. Beautiful work!
