Hello 2017…and Thank You!

Hello 2017!  So far, so good! I have had a little time to create some cards already!  Yeah!

This card is a big THANK YOU to everyone that has visited my blog, follows my blog, and/or left me such lovely comments.  I truly appreciate everyone’s comments.  I so enjoy creating and sharing my creations with you!

I created this card using My Favorite Things Twice The Thanks die and one of the bears from Polar Bear Pals stamp set and matching die.

I inked some Bristol Paper with Ranger Distress Inks, Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean.  I love how these inks blend so well, especially on the Bristol Paper.  I then die cut the “Thanks” three times from the inked up paper.  I wanted to give the word some emphasis, so I die cut the “Thanks” seven more times.  I glued two of the white “Thanks” to one of the colored “Thanks” and the other five white “Thanks” to one of the other colored “Thanks”.  I then adhered the “Thanks” to my card base starting at the top with the single “Thanks” and the “Thanks” with the three layers in the middle, and the final “Thanks” at the bottom.

I colored the Polar Bear using my Copics.  I have listed the colors I used on the bottom of my post.  Not much coloring on a Polar Bear!  LOL!  I added some Glossy Accents to the bear’s scarf and then adhered the bear to the front of my card.

After looking at the card, I decided to also add the Glossy Accents to the top layer of the “Thanks”.  I think it looks much better and kind of balances the card.

On the inside, I usually stamp a sentiment, but decided to try something different.  I had seem some other cards that people have made where they just die cut a sentiment in white paper and adhere it to white paper.  The sentiment is raised slightly as it is a layer on top of the paper.  I was happy with the way it turned out.  Sorry my photo is a little “yellowish”.  I think I had my hand shielding the light!  Ugh!

Overall, I was happy with this simple card.
