I have seen a lot of cards using kraft cardstock, but had never tried it. Most I have seen were using colored pencils. I had recently purchased some Polychromo Pencils, so decided to give it a try.
Here is what I came up with…
I just love this image from Stamping Bella. I had colored her up using my Copics, but never turned the image into a card.
A close up of the colored image…
I have used Gamsol with my colored pencils before, but decided to try the blending with just the colored pencils. I was happy with the way it turned out.
After coloring the image, I used the sentiment “MWAHHHHHHH!” that came with the stamp, but needed another sentiment for the top of the card. I was sending this to one of my “older” brothers for his birthday. I thought the Big Birthday Wishes “happy birthday” from Simon Says Stamp was the perfect one. The font was perfect for this card!
I wanted the image to be my focal point, so I didn’t add any other items to the front of the card. I layered the kraft cardstock on some black cardstock to set it off from the white card base.
I was happy with the way this turned out…and will be using my Polychromo Pencils again.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wow. Stunning. How are the pencils you used, different from prismacolor pencils?

The Polychromos don’t seem to break as much. The pretty much go on the same as Prismacolor however don’t seem to leave as much of the waxy build up so you are able to add more layers with the Polychromos.
