Melanie the Modern Bride

Oh my, it has been over a week since I have posted anything on my blog…it’s not that I haven’t been making cards.  LOL!  I was rolling along with my birthday card making when I received an invite to my nephew’s wedding.  They have been together for five years and just decided to tie the knot.  I’m so happy for them, however, the wedding was within a week!  Eeek!  I had to stop my birthday card making and come up with a wedding card, and quick!  LOL!

Luckily, I had just received my new stamp from Stamping Bella, Modern Bride.  The perfect stamp and sentiment for my card!

Here is what I came up with…

 Wedding Cards-29

I colored Melanie with my Copic markers.  I used the matching die to cut her out so I could pop her up on the card.

I decided to “age” the card so I added some Distress Ink to the patterned paper.  I “aged” the paper with the Tim Holz paper distressing tool.  The background stamp is an older Stampin Up stamp that I thought would be perfect for the background.  I also added Distress Ink to that paper.

To finish the card, I added some dots that were in one of the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kits.  I thought they went well with the theme of the card.  I heat embossed the sentiment with some Ranger Platinum embossing powder.
