Birds of Paradise

Masculine birthday cards are always a struggle for me.  There so many images for females, both young and old, but not many for a male.  I found this very fun stamp set and die from My Favorite Things, Birds of Paradise.  I wanted to do a little something different with this card.  I wanted to layer some of the images to make them “pop” from the card.

I created the background using Distress Inks of sky and water.  The sand was created using my Copic markers.

I stamped and cut out the images a second time, colored them the same as the first using my Copic markers and then cut out parts of the birds and palm trees.  I popped them up using dimensionals.  I think it worked pretty well.  Some glossy accents to their eyes added some interst.

One final look…
