My birthday card today is a card I sent for a masculine birthday. I always struggle with masculine cards as I don’t have my images that are specific for masculine cards. I know some people say floral images are okay, but I still struggle with that.

I have had a die from Little Birdie that was a gift from a friend who brought it back from a trip to India. I love the pattern of this die. It is a very delicate die, but I love the image.
I first ink blended my inks on a piece of white cardstock. I tried to get an even blend of all three colors across my cardstock. I did the ink blending checking my die over the ink to make sure that the entire image would be colored with fairly even colors. Once I was sure I had enough ink on my paper, I die cut the image. I also die cut it from additional white cardstock to layer behind the image so I could give it some depth.
My background was made with an embossing folder and colored cardstock. When I placed the die cut on top of the embossed background I felt it needed something behind the die cut to make it stand out more. I die cut a circle from some black cardstock and liked the look.
I cut the sentiment from some holographic cardstock. I did not die cut any additional sentiments as my doily die cut was popped up and I was mailing the card. After placing it on top of my card in several different places, I settled on the center of my card. I adhered all of the pieces on a piece of gray card base.

For my inside sentiment, I stamped the sentiment in black ink and heat embossed it. I added a little ink blending to the border and then adhered it to the inside of my card.

One more look at the finished card…
