Today’s cards are made using Altenew’s Rose Reverie Stamp and die set. There is a stencil set that goes along with the stamp and die set, but I didn’t use it today.
I made two different cards using two different mediums to color the images. My first card was colored using Copic markers.

I colored the image and then used the coordinating dies to cut the image out.
For my background, I used Hero Arts Art Deco Dancing Lights stencil and some Jade Fresh Dye ink from Altenew. I applied the ink using a light hand as I didn’t want it to be too dark.

I adhered my background to a dark green card base. I die cut the image again out of white cardstock and adhered it to the back of my colored image to give it a little depth. I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment on a piece of light green cardstock and adhered it on the top of my colored image.
I added a few small sequins around the image making sure they weren’t too distractive from my image. This completed my first card.
For my second card, I decided to try water coloring. I have only water colored a couple of times. I have several sets of water colors, but have not used them very often. I need more practice, but I was happy with the results today.

I first embossed the image with some gold embossing powder. I then pulled out my water colors and started the process of coloring the image. I used Mission water colors as my medium on this card.
For my background, I again stenciled a card piece, but this time used Vintage Motifs by Altenew. I used Pool Fresh Dye ink making sure to use light pressure so I didn’t get the ink too dark.
I followed the same process as my first card for putting the card together. I chose a cardstock matching my background ink color for my card base. I also did die cut the image out of white cardstock and adhered it behind my image to give a little more depth. And again, I added some soft colored sequins around my image.

I was really happy with how both of the cards turned out. By changing up the medium used to color the images as well as the background color and image, I created two different but similar cards.

I did use the same sentiment on both cards (I always need birthday cards!) but you could easily change the sentiment for different occasions.
