Today’s card is another birthday card using Steamboat Willie dies from Spellbinders. There are so many options with this die set.

When I made a previous card, I die cut a lot of pieces from the Steam Boat Willie and saved them for use on future cards. I had partially assembled the images (head, body, face and tongue) and had them ready to add the other parts depending on what I was going to create.
I cut out the clothing items and shoes from the colors I wanted for my card. I then finished assembling Mickey and Minnie and set them aside. I added some white dots to Minnie’s dress with a white gel pen.
I wanted to use the “H” “B” “D” on my card and had the idea of somehow having Mickey and Minnie holding the letters. I used the Classic Mouse Alphabet to cut the letters out of different shades of purple.

I added a little shading on each letter with some ink from Altenew. I wanted the edges to have a little bit of depth.
I started to arrange my images and the letters several different ways before deciding on one. The arms that I had attached to Mickey and Minnie have a tiny slit in the hands so you could place something in their “hands”.

Once I was satisfied with my arrangement, I placed a piece of Press N Seal over the top to keep the pieces in place. I turned it over and added glue where each piece “connected” to the next piece. I added a small dot on each of the hands to connect the letters to the images. I set this aside to let dry.

For my background of the images, I decided to create an embossed background. After putting the images together I decided that it would work best on a 5 X 7 card. I cut down my paper to fit on the front of my card and spritzed the paper with some water to prevent any cracking. I ran it through my die cutting machine.
I adhered the embossed paper to the front of my card base. I then placed the glued image onto the front of my card base. Once I had decided on the position I wanted, I again flipped over the image and applied glue to the areas of the image that would touch the embossed panel.

I added some yellow Nuvo Crystal drops to the center of the flower in Minnie’s head. I decided that I didn’t want to any other bling as I felt it would draw attention from the images. I did add some Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the letters before mailing off the card to the recipient.
One more look…..
