Creating a Beautiful Card with Altenew’s Radiant Blooms

My card today uses a recent Altenew stamp, die and stencil called Radiant Blooms. This is one of the recently monthly subscription sets which is still available.

I first stamped the floral image twice and then used the matching stencil to color the images. I wanted to stack the floral image to give the impression of a really full basket of flowers.

I stamped the basket image and also used the matching stencil to color the image.

Once I had all of the images colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out.

For my background, I used a technique that I recently saw Gina K demonstrated. She first used a large background stamp with a light background ink. Then she added smaller images on top of the background stamp to give the appearance of patterned paper. I used her Close Knit background stamp as my base and then added some of the smaller images from her Kindness Silhoutte stamp set. I used a green that was slightly darker than the background and a yellow to add a little color. I was pleased with how it turned out and will probably use this technique again.

For my greeting, I stamped the sentiment in clear embossing ink, added some platinum embossing powder, heat set it and then used the matching die to cut it out.

For my inside greeting, I stamped the sentiment in black ink, added some clear embossing powder and then heat set it. I added some light yellow around my panel before adding it to the inside of my card.

I was ready to put everything together. I first added the background panel that I had created and then added the basket towards the bottom of the panel.

I arranged the two different flower images so that it gives the appearance of a fuller basket of flowers. I die cut an extra floral image in white cardstock and glued it to the back of the yellow flowers. This gives some dimension to the arrangement. I adhered the yellow flowers to the top of the red flowers and added them to the basket. The sentiment worked great over the “seam” of the two floral images helping to hide where I joined the two images.

A little Nuvo drop in the center of each exposed flower and some sequins completed my card.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
