Creative Card Making with Build-A-Garden Kits

Today’s card is using another of my Build-A-Garden monthly kits, Through the Tulips. I also used some older products on this card. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a lot of photos during my creative process.

  • When I started to create this card, I wasn’t sure if I was going to use the stencils or my Copic markers to color the images, so I stamped the image twice.
  • I used the matching layering stencils to color the image first.
  • For the second image, I pulled out my Copics and colored the image.

  • Using the coordinating dies, I cut out both images.
  • I decided on the Copic colored image for this card but will save the stenciled one to use on a future card.
  • Using Master Layouts #17, I cut out a card panel for the A6 card.
  • I also cut a panel out of dark green cardstock for a mat.
  • I looked through my stencils and found one that I had not used for some time. I wanted a stencil that didn’t cover the entire card panel.
  • Using a lighter green ink, I added color to the stencil on the left side of my panel.
  • A thin strip of silver glitter paper added to the edge of the stenciled side finished the look.
  • I added my floral image towards the bottom of my card using some thin foam tape making sure it had a small part hanging over the white portion of my panel.
  • My sentiment was die cut from the same dark green cardstock as my mat for my panel.
  • A white shadow was cut to place behind my green sentiment.
  • I added thin foam tape behind my sentiment leaving the area over the silver strip without any foam tape so my sentiment remained flat against my card.
  • To finish off my card, I added some flat sequins from my stash.
