Create Beautiful Cards with Altenew’s Tranquil Trail Build-A-Garden Kit

Today’s card uses Altenew’s monthly Build-A-Garden subscription from March, Tranquil Trail. I only used part of the items included for today’s card.

  • My first step in creating this card was to stamp the image.
  • This is a large image so I used a larger piece of cardstock with the thought that I would be cutting it down and only using part of the image on my card.
  • I used the coordinating stencils to color the image.
  • Once I had the image colored, I used some Prismacolor pencils to add a few more details to the flowers.

  • My thought was to also stamp the image in a lighter ink to create a background for my focal point.
  • I cut a panel using Master Layouts 2.
  • After stamping the image on the panel, I ink blended around the borders with a lighter ink. I made sure not to bring the color in to far towards the middle of my panel.
  • I cut a mat for my panel using a lighter pink cardstock.

  • My next step was to do my die cutting.
  • I used the coordinating die to cut out the floral image.
  • I also used two arch dies to create an arched frame from some gray cardstock.
  • I then placed my floral image into the arched frame placing the “stems” behind the frame and weaving the flowers in the front of the frame.
  • Once I was able to see how it fit, I trimmed some of the flowers from the single die cut image and placed those flowers into the arrangement to fill it out better.
  • Once I had my arrangement, I added a piece of Press N Seal to keep the arrangement as I had created so I could lift it up and turn it over to add glue to areas on the back that touched.
  • Once I had glued some of the areas together, I added some glue to the entire back that would touch my card panel.
  • I flipped the image back over and placed it over my panel where I wanted on my panel. I then removed the Press N Seal.

  • For my sentiment I die cut it from some darker pink cardstock and some silver cardstock.
  • I added the silver die cut to the back of the pink die cut offsetting it a little bit so it gives the appearance of a silver shadow.
  • I then adhered my sentiment to my card.

I did not add any additional embellishments to my card.
