Lots of die cutting and ink blending in today’s card. I recently received the newer Creative Cuts: Houseplants Layering Die cuts from Altenew. I had been wanting this die set ever since I saw it. It had been out of stock for awhile, but I finally was able to get it.

I had a vision in my head of my card. I wanted to make the die cuts the focal point of my card and little else to distract you from the focal point. I found some pattern paper from my stash that goes very well with the die cut.

• After choosing the pattern paper, I started die cutting all of the pieces from some white cardstock.
• I die cut each piece twice as I wasn’t sure how many I would need to create the arrangement.
• After I was done with the die cutting, I started the ink blending of each little piece.
• I used colors for the flowers that would compliment the background paper.

• Once I had all of the pieces colored, I started the process of assembling all of the flowers.
• I assembled the hanging pot (most of which ends up being hidden).
• The next step was to start arranging all of the hanging vines.
• Once I had the vines arranged, I placed the flowers where I wanted them.
• Once I had them how I wanted them, I added the entire hanging basket to my card.
• I stamped, heat embossed and die cut my sentiment.

For the inside panel I stamped and heat embossed my greeting. I also added a butterfly from my “left- over” stash from another card.

To finish my card front, I added some left-over butterflies from another card I previously made. I always save those extra die cuts as you never know when they will go perfectly on another card.
