Creative Winter Mug Birthday Card Tutorial

Happy Birthday! I haven’t made a shaker card in quite a while. I have had the Winter Mug die set from Pretty Pink Posh for some time but hadn’t used it yet. It is called Winter Mug, but you can use it at anytime by just changing up your paper and embellishments. I have been trying to create cards using things in my stash that I either haven’t used before or used in a while.

I first cut out the mug using some pattern paper that I had on hand. I also die cut several from white card stock making sure to cut the “windows” in the same place. I traced the mug so that I could cut one out by hand so it wouldn’t have the “window”. I added some clear acetate to the back of my pattern paper and then several of the white die cut mugs. After adding my star sequins, I added the back to my mug.

For my panel, I foiled a Flurries poly-glaze sheet with some Wild Lilac foil from Gina K. The photo’s make it appear darker than it actually is. For some reason, the colors do not appear as vivid as they actually are.

I used some images from the Winter Mug Birthday Additions die set to create the balloon, candle and piece of cake. I ink blended each piece. I placed my images over my foiled panel and then adhered them down. I then added the piece to my card base.

My sentiment is also from the Winter Mug Birthday Addition. I die cut it from some glitter paper and adhered it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
