I always make a special card for each of my Grandchildren and Great Nieces and Nephews. I make about 15 of these special cards each year. This year was no different.

Like my previous Christmas card, this card also involved a lot of die cutting and assembly.
- I first die cut all of the items before doing any assembly.
- I die cut each piece numerous times and put them in a plastic container.
- For the house parts, I added some brown and white splatters to provide a little more interest instead of just the plain tan pieces.
- Once I had all of the pieces die cut, I lined up my containers and began the assembly process of the Gingerbread House.
- I wanted some sparkle on the roof, so I added a thin strip of double-sided tape to the top of the roof parts and the top of the chimney.
- I added some Rock Candy from Tim Holtz and then pressed the glitter firmly into the tape. This helps to keep the glitter from coming off.
- I set the houses aside and began working on the panel that would be the background for my card.
**Having containers for the many different die cuts was a great help. I purchased mine from Scrapbook.com but I know other companies also carry similar ones. The are great for keeping track of those little die cut pieces. Here is a photo of the ones I use:

- I cut a light blue panel slightly smaller than my card base for my background.
- I added some white paint splatters to give the impression of snow.
- I also die cut the slopes using the Stitched Slopes and Hills from white card stock.
- To add some sparkle to the “snow”, I added a line of glue to the top of the slopes and added the same Rock Candy glitter from Tim Holtz.

I then began assembling the cards.
- I added some thin foam tape between the “snow” layers to give them some dimension.
- I added the “snow” layers to the blue background.
- I placed the house on the card panel leaving room for my sentiment to fit across the top of the panel.
- I finished the process by adding the candy pieces and gingerbread man.

This was a fun card to make!
