For my card today, I combined die cutting and ink blending.

- I first die cut all of the pieces for the flowers and bird from white card stock.
- I then ink blended each piece placing them over each other to make sure I had enough color on the bottom piece.
- Once I had all of my pieces colored, I pieced each image together using the “key” to make sure that I had them layered correctly.
I like using Altenew’s layering dies as they give you great directions for assembling the dies. Each die cut is marked with a “key” to help you line up each layer.

- For my background, I first stenciled my cardstock with Leap and Flourish by Hero Arts in a soft color.
- Once I had my image stenciled, I used Intricate Stitched Ovals cover plate to add some more interest.
- I layered this piece on a black mat using Dark Chocolate card stock and then added it to my card base.

- My sentiment is from Gina K’s Delicate Flowers.
- I foiled the sentiment using Twinkling Pink foil.
- I die cut the sentiment using the matching die. I die cut three additional sentiments in white card stock to stack behind the foiled sentiment.

To finish my card, I added a small black pearl for the bird’s eye.
This was a fun card to put together.
