Today’s card is not a birthday card! I wanted to make a card just to say “Hello”. I make so many birthday cards, I just wanted to make a card for no reason.
I recently made a card using Simon Says Stamp’s Hey, Sweetie! stamp set. There are several images in this stamp set that I had stamped so I could color them. On my previous card, I decided not to use this image so I set it aside to use on another card.

The background for this card is done using the same technique as my card here. (9/10)
- I first cut my white card panel using Master Layouts #1. I also cut a mat using Wild Lilac cardstock.
- I used Saran Wrap and my ink pads to add color to the white panel.
- I glued the colored panel to my mat and then to my card base.

I colored my focal image using my Copic markers and then cut my image out using the coordinating die.
I then created my pop-up feature as I wanted my focal image to pop up when the card was taken out of the envelope.
- I cut a piece of white cardstock 4″ X 1 1/2″ and scored it at 1/2″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/2″ and 3 1/2″.
- I then folded the paper to form a rectangle. On my previous card here, (9/10) I adhered the rectangle at the bottom of my card.
- Because I knew the rectangle would show, I decided to adhere it to the middle of my card and the middle of my focal point. This still allows the image to “pop-up” when the card is taken out of the envelope.

I cut my sentiment out using an older die and some scrap glitter paper I had on hand. I added it to my focal image and then added a few crystals to the background for a bit of shine.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
