Ink Blending Birthday Card with Die Cutting

My birthday card today combines die cutting and ink blending. I have been a member of Spellbinder’s monthly clubs and the die set I used in today’s card was one of those die sets.

This is an A2 card (5 1/2 X 4 1/4) so I used the Master Layouts #1 to cut my white panel and black mat.

I placed my white panel on my Ultra Sticky Mat and added the Rectangle Masks over my panel.

I started at the bottom of the panel using my Squeezed Lemonade Oxide ink and a blending tool. I worked my way up the panel blending Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch inks making sure to overlap each of the previous colors.

I then die cut the images for my panel. For the umbrella, I used some pattern paper instead of plain cardstock. Once I had all of my images die cut, I began the assembly of the images. For the chairs, I die cut the seating from both white and blue cardstock. I then trimmed the white to make panels on the chairs. The die cuts do have guidelines if you want to do that.

For my sentiment, I decided to stamp it on one of the clouds. I stamped the sentiment in Majestic Blue ink and added clear embossing powder. I heat set the sentiment and then cut an additional cloud to add behind the sentiment.

I was happy with how this card turned out. This layout and dies could be used for several different occasions. I think it would make a great retirement card.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
