I have a quick post today sharing a simple card with ink blending, stamping and heat embossing. I have made another version of this card using different inks here. Using different types of ink will give you different looks. If you are using blending brushes, you need to make sure you don’t use the same brushes for different types of ink. I have brushes for dye inks and a separate set for my Distress Oxide inks.

For this card, I used Master Layouts #1 to cut a white and black panel.
- I added the white panel to my Ultra Sticky Mat and added the larger oval mask making sure I centered it over the panel.
- I started my ink blending at the bottom with Squeezed Lemonade and then moved on to Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and finally Blueprint Sketch.
- Once I was done with my ink blending, I removed the oval mask and placed my panel in my Stamping Wheel so I could position my images where I wanted them. I stamped them in Black Onyx ink.

- After stamping my images and before I added my sentiment, I let my panel dry overnight. Distress Oxide inks take a little longer to completely dry. Before I could add my heat embossed sentiment, I had to make sure my color blending was completely dry.
- I first used my powder tool to rub over where I was going to add my sentiment to make sure the embossing powder wouldn’t stick where I didn’t want it.
- I then placed my sentiment in my Stamping Wheel and stamped it using VersaMark Watermark ink.
- I added Liquid Platinum embossing powder and heat set it.

This completed my card. I did not add any embellishments as I was mailing this card.
Ink blending with different inks will give you different looks. The Distress Oxide inks are more opaque than dye ink and blend really well. You get a little better blending when you go back and forth over where the colors meet making sure to overlap the colors. I find with Distress Oxide inks that they blend better when you go back and forth where the colors overlap and not in a circular motion.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
