I hadn’t used my Prismacolor pencils for a while, so I decided to get them out and give them some love. This card is a combination of coloring, die cutting and the BetterPress system. I will add this card to my stash that I can add a sentiment when I need a card.

To begin to create this card, I first used my BetterPress system to “press” my image into the paper using black ink. The plate includes the floral arrangement and also the hummingbird.
Once I had my images created, I began the coloring process working from my darkest color to my lightest color. I begin adding light coats of color and add two or three layers of color. I do not use any blending solution, just my pencils. When I was done coloring, I added a light border with some light Copic markers.

Once I had my images colored, I used the matching die to cut out the hummingbird and the Elegant Rectangle Stax to cut out the floral image. I also cut a black mat for the floral image with the same die set.
I added my floral image to the black mat and then added it to the card base. I then positioned the hummingbird and glued it down to the card.
To finish off my card, I added some Gold Perfect Pearls Mist. I used a little heavier spray on the left side and lighter touch on the right side. This helped to break up the solid white background.

Adding the mist to my card after coloring is a little out of my comfort zone. I spent a lot of time coloring the image and was a little afraid to cover any of it up, but I’m happy with the results.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
