For today’s card, I tried a different technique using an embossing folder. I have watched several videos from other card makers using an embossing folder and ink and wanted to give it a try.

Here is how I created the card:
- I cut my card panels using Master Layouts #1, one in white and one in black for the mat.
- Before putting my paper in the embossing folder, I took my Blue Denim ink and rubbed it over the raised side of the embossing folder. It did leave a lighter coat on the remainder of the embossing folder as when I did apply the ink some of the ink was on the balance of the folder.
- I placed the white panel on the side without the ink making sure it was straight before closing my embossing folder.
- I ran the embossing folder through my Intri-Cut making sure that I had set it to the 3D setting. (There are two different settings on this machine, one for 3D embossing folders and one for regular embossing folders which are thinner.)
- I carefully opened the embossing folder so my paper didn’t move. I felt the image needed more ink, so I added more ink to the embossing folder.
- After carefully lining up my paper with the embossed image, I ran my panel through the Intri-Cut a second time.
- Once satisfied with the background, I added the black mat to the embossed panel and then added the panel to a top folding white card base.

For my center panel:
- I cut two panels from Master Layouts #8, one in white and one in black for my mat.
- Using the background side of the Bodacious Blooms stencil, I added a very light coat of Soft Stone ink, concentrating on the center of the panel.
- Next, I added the flower part of the stencil starting with my lighter color on the first stencil and the darker color on the second stencil.
- Once done with the stenciling, I added the black mat.
To make stenciling easier, I use my Altenew Ultra Sticky Mat. This mat is 9″ X 12″ and keeps my card panel in place as well as the stencil to make the ink blending easier. It is very easy to remove your stenciled or ink blended panel once you are done.

For my sentiment:
- I stamped my sentiment in VersaMark Watermark ink and added fine detail white embossing powder.
- I cut the sentiment out using one of the Nested Banner dies.
- I added my sentiment to the stenciled panel and then added it to my embossed panel.
