And those birthdays keep coming. This time, it is for one of my nephews, so yes, I had to come up with another masculine birthday card.

I recently watched a YouTube video by Gina K where she created a background using shaving cream and re-inkers. If you have never tried this technique, I encourage you to give it a try! It is so fun and you never know how your background will turn out. No two are the same. It is easier to watch the video that try to explain how it is done. Here is the link to her video: Shaving Cream with Masking Magic.
For my background, I used Turquoise Sea and Blue Raspberry re-inkers with the shaving cream. I ink blended a light coat of Powder Blue on my cardstock before I placed it in the shaving cream mixture. Once I had my background created and let it completely dry, I used the Spun Glass 3D embossing folder to give the background even more texture.

I die cut the balloons using the Balloons die cut from Simon Says Stamp in Burnt Orange and Green Apple. For the third balloon I used some Holographic cardstock. To the orange and green balloons, I added some distress inks in Spiced Marmalade and Mowed Lawn with a little bit of Vintage Photo to the edges to give the balloons a little more depth.

My sentiment is Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script from Poppy Stamps. I cut the sentiment using Black Glossy cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and another piece of the holographic cardstock for the shadow. I used Master Layouts #1 from Gina K to cut out my background and a mat out of Tranquil Teal cardstock from also from Gina K. I popped the holographic balloon up with some foam tape and attached some string to the balloons before adding my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Shaving foam! Good reminder, that has been on my to-try list for ever… It’s a nice way to add a bit of a random element to a design.
