A friend recently retired and I needed to make a card for him. What better image to use but Penguin Beach Chair from Whimsy Stamps.
I decided to use my Prismacolor pencils to color this image. I have listed the colors I used at the bottom of my post.
After coloring my image, I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Ovals to cut my image out. I found some great paper in my stash, but I can’t remember the name of it. I thought it was perfect for this retirement card. I distressed the edges of the paper and adhered it to my card base.
I cut some fun foam and adhered it to the back of my image and added it to the card. I also cut out the Edna Blows A Kiss Hanging Sign die from Stamping Bella. I used some of the same paper that I had used on my card and then added some fun foam to the back. I used Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned alphabet to stamp the sentiment.
I added some Blue Lagoon Nuvo Glitter Drops and my card was complete.

Hi Pam! Thanks so much for your comment. I have switched to Xpress It Blending Card paper. I order it off of Amazon. It may cost just a little more but I love how Copics blend so well on it. I don’t seem to have to use as much effort in getting the colors to blend. I highly recommend it! 😀

Thanks Wendy! I’ve only been using colored pencils for about a year now. I signed up for the Kit & Clowder monthly classes and those are the pencils she uses most often. I’ve learned a lot from her. I also have Polychrome pencils, but always seem to come back to my Prismacolor pencils because the blend so well. They also have more colors. Thanks for stopping by!

I’d love to take a class. I’ve just been experimenting after watching YouTube videos. I really like the blending results using gamsol and paper stumps. I’d like to learn more though.

She has a free class on markers that anyone can do. I don’t think she has a free one on pencils. The nice thing about her classes are that she will answer any question and if you are struggling, she will work with you and give you one on one feedback. You might also join the Facebook group. You don’t have to be taking her classes to join. It is open to anyone. The website for her classes is http://www.kitandclowder.com. She has a great class on Perfecting Pencils. It is not a monthly class, but a great class with lots of videos and the same one on one feedback. 😀
