A Little Bit of Me…..

My post today is a little something different…no cards, no coloring, just a little bit of me.  A dear blogger friend of mine publishes a post every Friday called “The Friday Post”.  She shares a bit of history, and a bit of wisdom each week.  This week’s wisdom part of the post seemed to have an effect on me, so much so that I wanted to share her post.  To begin, I would suggest you read her post, which you can find here:  The Friday Post.

On this Veteran’s Day, we need to remember and give thanks to all of our Veteran’s both young and old.  Those who have served, and those who are still serving their countries.  These Veteran’s have given so much to each of us.  They do not personally know us, but so many have given the ultimate sacrifice so that each of us can live our lives.  The “wars” have touch every part of the world.  There is no country, or no person that has not been somehow affected by at least one war.  Each one is supposed to be the “last” one, but it never seems to be.

There is too much violence around the world today, and not enough love for each person around you.  We tend to jump to violence instead of listening with open hearts to someone else’s opinion or way of life.  There is room for everyone in this world no matter their thoughts, beliefs, or ways of life.  No one should be forced to change if they do not want to. Violence should be removed from our lives. There is too much violence on TV and in movies.  In this “technology” world, it all to often on the air and in social media. What ever happened to sitting on the front porch and just enjoying talking with our neighbors and friends. Now we are always inside, or on our phones, or on our iPads and not paying attention to what is going on around us. Enjoying the beauty of the things around us is missing from everyday life. We are all in too much of a rush. We only think about ourselves and what we can “get” or are “entitled” to, just because.  We have become a selfish society.  What ever happened to working for the things you want instead of sitting back and demanding that they are given to us just because we are “entitled” to them. I feel sorry for the future generations with the direction things seem to be going. We need to throw out some of the technology and go back to the simple things in life. That is where happiness begins. The civilized world seems to be disappearing. Too may wars, too many conflicts, and too may shootings all for really “no reason” whatsoever. Have we become so afraid to leave our homes? What kind of world is that? To afraid to express yourself or stand up for what you believe in? There is no where safe from violence, not our parks, not our concerts, not even our churches. How sad this world has become. We all need to “stop and smell the roses” for those roses are fading fast. We need to nurture and feed the roses not cut them down. We need to start by listening to each other and doing so with an open mind and open heart. You have never walked in someone else’s shoes so you don’t really know what makes them think or do what they do. We all need to band together and make the changes happen, and it starts with each one of us.

We can all do something to help our fellow-man.  After all, we are all the same.  We come in all shapes and sizes, all colors, and yet, we are all the same.  We are all living human beings.  We all have different beliefs, and yet, they are all the same, just seen through different eyes.  While one might see “Mother Nature”, another might see “God’s great earth”.  Are they not the same?  Does it really matter what someone else believes?  A flower is still a flower that has beauty and brings pleasure to the eye.

My hope is that each one of us takes the time to listen to those around us.  Share what you can whether it be monitory for those in need, or just a smile to a stranger.  Each of us has a special talent.  By all working together and sharing our talents with each other we can make this a better place to live for today, and for future generations.

Open your heart, listen to those around you, and most of all know that you are not alone in the world.  There are a lot of people rooting for you.

Sorry for the lengthy post and my deviation form my norm….I just wanted to get some things off of my mind.

Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully I will get back to sharing more of my cards and colorings.

  1. Lovely post Nancee! I wholeheartedly agree with you about time outside and with people, I see so many social skills disappearing with the younger generation. Yes, we need to lift our heads out of our devices and do more activities with our families, friends and neighbors, thus creating at least an emotional safe environment. I just spent the last 2 hours playing candy land and memory games with my 4 year old. The time already feels like it is flying by with him. Anyways, thanks for the reminders, hope you enjoy your weekend.

  2. A truly wonderful post Nancee, written and dictated by your heart.
Every word had love direct from your heart woven through it. Each plea for an understanding between all the people of the world was made with an urgency based upon an emotional river of feeling running throughout your body.

I agree with you more than you perhaps know, about people of beliefs having an understanding for those who believe under another religious ‘title’.

I have loved every single word of this post, Nancee. A truly beautiful post.
Sending you my love, and standing on the sidelines supporting you with every fibre in my body.
Great job. I’d be incredibly happy to read more of these ‘feelings’ that you perhaps don’t feel anyone wants to hear. We do. We just don’t know how to go about asking you.
Maybe you could to a Friday Post of your own. The Friday Thought(s)? The Friday Feeling? Ahh, I’m certain you can come up with your own title.
