Well, I’m back to birthday cards! We had an entire week in August where we had a birthday every day, and even two on one day!
My image from this card is from Whimsy Stamps, What A Loot. I thought it was so cute! For this card, I used my Polychromo Colored Pencils. I have listed the colors I used at the bottom of this post. I’m really liking using pencils on kraft card stock.
After coloring my image, I used my stitched oval die to cut it out. I added some fun foam to the back of my image to pop it up a bit.
My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, It’s No Secret. I added some Nuvo drops in Silver Lining, Caribbean Ocean, and White.
And that was my card for today.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Crafting!

This is an adorable image and your colouring is just wonderful! I have some coloured pencils, but not ones I particularly enjoy using… I keep seeing good things being done with the Polychromos though, so I may have to invest in some.

I have both Polychromes and Prismacolor pencils. I like both. The Polychromes are a little harder and hold their point well. The Prismacolor seem to blend a little better. There are more colors with the Prismacolors. I got the Prismacolor colors in Amazon for a really good price. I would recommend a battery pencil sharpener. I had trouble with the Prismacolor colors breaking until I started using the battery pencil sharpener. The pencil sharpener I got was the iPoint Orbit also from Amazon. 😀

Thanks, that’s really helpful. I’m tempted by the Polychromos – they sound like they’d be best for using to add detail to Copic colouring as well as using on their own.

Ohhhh Nancee this one is just too perfect.
You’re SO good at colouring up these images, and the use of the Tonic drops brings the whole thing together.
In my (self appointed) position of Awardist – I award you the medal of Colourist Supreme 🥇 because you’re brilliant!

Really love that cheeky chappie, he’s brilliant. Lovely card, and your colouring is amazing as always. Oh… you inspired me to start using my Nuvo Crystal drops I have had since February and not used, now I love them and have just ordered more colours! Thank You 🙂

I think I might be a teeny bit jealous of your stamp collection. And your colouring abilities

LOL! I have soooo many stamps and not enough storage space! I’ve started buying more and more digital stamps, cost is less and storage is no problem! I’ve been coloring for about 5 years. I have seen huge improvements over the years. I started taking some classes at Kit & Clowder and they have helped improve my coloring. 😀

I once saw a bookmark which said ‘there is no such thing as too many books… There is, however, such a thing as not enough space’. It translates perfectly to crafty toys, too.
I made the choice right at the beginning to use Spectrum Noir, and although I really like them, I kind of regret it. I find all the magazines I’ve seen, blogs I’ve read and how to colour videos focus on Copics

Ooooh! The pencils do go nicely on the Kraft cardstock. Another card bringing so much joy to a birthday. I love the roses cheeks.
