I’ve had this stamp from Stamping Bella for awhile but haven’t had a chance to use it. The stamp is actually called Wedding Cake Chicks. I love this stamp, and wanted to use it for birthdays. So, I stamped the image cleaning off the ink from the areas that I didn’t want stamped. This one was a little easier to alter than my previous one.
I colored the image with my Copics and then used the matching die to cut them out. I had to do a little more trimming as there were some hearts and other areas for weddings that I didn’t include for the birthday card.
I couldn’t find enough of any of the dotted paper, so I decided to use some of the scraps that I had. I just layered them on top of my card base and then added a paper doily to mount my image one. Don’t most cakes come with doilies???? My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers. I used some silver embossing powder to make it stand out.
And of course, I had to add some Nuvo drops. I used Blue Lagoon, Sherbert Shimmer, and Pearl White.
Hope you enjoyed the card for today.
Thanks for stopping by!

Soooo cute! And nice job removing the wedding details. I think the scraps background works really well too.

As always beautifully adapted and love the layout. You don’t even notice they are scraps until you mention it! 🙂

Great job with the technique to remove the wedding parts, I would have never guessed. The birds are just too cute. The drops are beautiful especially the blue.
