A friend of mine recently asked if I could make a card for her grandson who was leaving for college. I have a lot of “female” stamps, but very few masculine stamps…..so, I turned one of my “female” stamps into a masculine stamp. For this card I used The Squidgy on A Journey by Stamping Bella.
I had to change the dress to shorts, and the long hair and scarf to short hair and a ball cap. I tried wiping off the ink from the stamp in the areas that I needed to change, but I just couldn’t get it right. So, I decided to try another avenue. I first stamped my image and then scanned it. After I scanned it, I used some “white out” to delete the lines of the dress and long hair. After doing that, I took a black Copic pen and drew in the new lines I needed to change my image. Once I had that done, I re-scanned the image and printed it out on my Copic paper. Here is a picture of the image before:
To this:
Whew! Once I had that done, I set to coloring my image with my Copics. I have listed the colors I used at the bottom of my post.
I had some striped patterned paper that I thought would go great with the image, so I used a die from My Favorite Things, Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 to trim my image. I then used the Stitched Alphabet dies from My Favorite Things to cut out his name. I also cut the letters out of fun foam so I could pop the image up. I used the sentiment from the stamp set as I thought it was perfect for the card.
I finished off my card with some Apple Green Nuvo drops.
Thanks for stopping by!
