The last card that I made for the fundraiser was also not a birthday card, but one that could be used for a number of different reasons. I just love the Squidgies from Stamping Bella. They are just so cute!
I again colored my image using my Copics and the “no line” technique. You stamp the image in a very light ink and then color it. This makes the “lines” disappear. I have listed the Copics that I used at the bottom of my post.
I have had some Purple Deco Foil for some time, but had not had much luck in getting the foil to adhere to the paper. I had recently seen several videos using Deco Foil Transfer Gel and decided to give it a try. I used an older stencil that I had with big dots. You add the gel using a palette knife making sure you get a smooth thin layer on your paper. (Be sure to wash your stencil as soon as possible! I had a small dish of soapy water and just dropped my stencil in the water as soon as I was finished adding the gel. This made the clean up easy.) You then let the gel dry. I let mine dry over night. Once dry, you add the foil paper on top and run it through your laminator. When you peal the foil from your card stock, the foil remains on the dried gel giving you a shiny “foiled” look. It is hard to see in the photos, but I loved the look. I will certainly try this again!
I liked the sentiment that came with the stamp and decided to use it on the front of my card. After adhering all of my layers, I (of course) added some Nuvo drops in Crushed Grape, Purple Rain and Morning Dew. (My Morning Dew drops were not quite dry when I took my photos so they look a little “cloudy”. They dry clear and shiny.
As with my previous card, I added pattern paper to the inside of the card, but left a large space for the person to write their own message.
Thanks for taking a peek!
Happy Crafting!

Thanks! I have had the foil for some time and wanted to use it…you know how you buy things because you are going to use them, but never seem to get around to it? Well that was me with the foil. Once I did it, I loved it. I’m sure I will do it again! I do so love those Squidgys! 🙂
