Crazy Dogs

Oh my, it has been over three weeks since I have posted a card.  My husband and I and two my sisters and their husbands spent a fabulous week on the beach, and then when I got home I had to spend time catching up at work and at home so I have not had much time for card making.  I’ve started my Halloween cards, but don’t quite have them finished yet…maybe this weekend?  I hope so because then I need to get started on my Thanksgiving Day cards and then my Christmas cards.  So much to do, so little time!  I did color one image and started a second one while I was gone as I took some supplies with me.  But as you can imagine with two of my sisters and their husbands, there was not much time for coloring!  We had a great time together and are looking forward to going again next year with my third sister and her husband hoping to join us.

I do have a card to share today, one that I made before I left and hand delivered while I was on vacation.  It was for my great-nephew who celebrated his 5th birthday.  They have a new puppy (rather large one at that) and I thought I would make a card with a dog colored like their new puppy.

I used an image from Tim Holz’s Crazy Dogs.  I had a photo of he puppy, so I used that as a guide for my coloring.  I used my Copics to color the image.  With one of the card kits from Simon Says Stamp, there was a stamp set and some “scratch off” dots.   Using the stamp set, I stamped the balloons using some dye ink and then added my sentiment of Happy Birthday under one of the balloons.  I covered the sentiment using the “scratch off” dots and then stamped the “scratch off” from the stamp set to let him know that there was something under the balloon.

A few of the stick on birthday kit and my card was finished.  (Of course I had to add some money on the inside!  LOL!)

So sorry I missed this and your Halloween card somehow! Although I have noticed a lot of posts not making it into the Reader. Super card. I think his eyes maybe indicate he has just had his shots! I bet your nephew loved it, especially the ‘scratch off’ fun!
