I’ve been making a lot of birthday cards lately, and recently had a chance to make a birthday card for a special little boy who was turning 1.
My Favorite Things has some great images for cards for children. I used the Adorable Elephants stamp set for the elephants, colored them with my Copic markers and then used the matching dies to cut them out. I think they are just so cute!!
A close up of the elephants…
The balloons…
I used another stamp in the set to stamp for the balloons. The numbered balloon is a die cut from Avery Elle, Numbered Balloons. I die cut it four times out of white paper and once out of some patterned paper. I glued them together to give the number “1” some depth. A little embroidery floss was added for the string for the numbered balloon. The birthday boy’s name was cut out of patterned paper using Memory Box’s Upper Case Alphabet Soup dies.
To create the little scene, I used a Simon Says Stamp die from the Stitched Slopes and Hills die set. I added the elephants to the front of the hill using some dimensional tape under their heads for support. The flowers and butterflies are from the same stamp set as the elephants.
To finish the scene, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the balloons for some sparkle.
One final look…
Thanks for stopping by!
