You never seem to have enough birthday cards, especially one for a male. I thought that one with butterflies would be a little more masculine that flowers. I have several butterfly stamps and a butterfly punch, so I decided to create one using those.
Here is what I came up with…
I used the Swallowtail from Stampin Up as well as the larger butterfly from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set. After stamping them with Chocolate Chip, I used the clear Wink of Stella to give them a little sparkle. I used the butterfly punch to punch them out as I wanted to let their wings “fly”. I added some black pearls for the body and then attached them using glue dots, but only in the middle. This allows the wings to flutter. On the larger butterfly, I used Distress markers to add some color and then again used the Wink of Stella clear to add some shimmer to the colors. I used a Wink of Stella silver pen to add the lighter spots.
A peek inside. . .
I embossed the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp using Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up and clear embossing powder. I used an embossing folder from Anna Griffin, Pirouette.
And one final look…
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
